The CW’s new series Nikita premieres at 9 p.m. TONIGHT!

If you love watching strong women kick butt on the small screen — and seriously, who doesn’t — then you’re in luck! Mission Impossible III star Maggie Q and former Desperate Housewives star Lyndsy Fonseca both do their fair share of man-bashing on The CW’s Nikita, and co-star Shane West says he loves watching them in action. “I like that our show has empowered female characters who women can identify with,” Shane tells HollywoodLife.com exclusively.

But don’t think there’s nothing in it for the guys! Shane is the first to admit the show’s leading ladies are as sexy as they are feisty.

“It’s an adult show built for any age group,” he says of Nikita.

Shane describes his character Michael, a member of the secret government agency Division, as a “lost soul.”

“He has a sense of loyalty to Division, but he’s not foolish — he understands that Division has also done a lot of bad, corrupt things,” Shane says of his new role. “Essentially Division saved him from almost taking his own life, and because of that he’s always conflicted. He also had a past with Nikita, which is the only woman in his life he might have cared so much about.”

In case you need another reason to watch Nikita, here’s what our very own Kirstin Benson has to say about tonight’s episode:

“In addition to being smart and suspenseful, Nikita is action-packed and boasts one of the HOTTEST casts on TV,” Kirstin writes. “Sexy times…seriously.”

Nikita premieres at 9 p.m. tonight (Sept. 9) on The CW! Will YOU be tuning in?

lets just hope this series doesn’t get cancelled after the first season.it seems this happens a lot with tv series that empower women. like the bionic woman
with rachel ward nixed after the first season… wasn’t even given a chance either
that or it did poor in the ratings department. so good luck maggie Q all the best
glad to see you working again…
