The star wowed on the red carpet. Let’s talk about how YOU can get her look!

Spotted looking lovely on the red carpet last night: Jessica Alba, working a sexy undone topknot and some serious cat eye makeup! Let’s break down Jessica’s edgy-but-elegant look (which is surprisingly simple) and explain how you can get it for yourself:

Jessica’s hair is basically a ponytail pulled all the way up at the crown and hand rolled into a spiral knot. Her stylist released some small hairs along the actual knot and then along the sides of her face. The result is a very uptown-chic-with-a-twist look that’s not only fashion-forward ,but it’s soft and easy.

Now let’s chat about her Brigitte Bardot-inspired beauty look. Having seen this multiple times on the Emmys red carpet (Lea Michele, anyone?) it’s bound to be all the rage for the upcoming season. Note that in classic style, her makeup artist only lined and defined the top lid, adding serious lashes for very sultry eyes. With the addition of bronze blush to define her cheeks and a pinkish-nude lip, she’s worthy of those serious diamond earrings she’s sporting!

Cat eye makeup never goes out of style in my opinion (please refer to Gwen Stefani to see my point) and it’s not that hard to do. Start with a Smashbox Limitless Liquid Liner Pen and, bracing your elbow on a surface, make a series of dots right along your top lash line going out just a little (or a lot) past the outer corner of your eye. Then all you have to do is connect the dots. Easy, right? Finish the look with a good lengthening mascara, like CoverGirl LashBlash Length, to get long, look-at-me lashes.

Onto the pinkish nude lip: check out NARS Lipstick in their Belle du Jour hue. If you just can’t do lipstick, try a lip balm like Dior Addict Lip Glow, which alters its pink color to your body hue to become your own perfect shade of pink. Genius, right?

Why not try this lovely look? Take a cue from Jessica – it’s easy, fast and makes major red carpet-worthy impact.
