EXCLUSIVE! Tony Dovolani Wants His 'DWTS' Partner To Be Jennifer Grey — But Why?

Due to Kate Gosselin’s lack of fancy footwork, Tony was one of the first contestants booted from Dancing with the Stars last season. But this time around, he wants to win — with Jennifer!

Now that the new cast of Dancing with the Stars has been announced, the new question is this: who will be partnered with who? Dancer Tony Dovolani has never had the good luck to be part of a winning pair (although he did place third with Stacy Keibler on the show’s second season) but he’s more than ready to go for the gold this time around! So why would Jennifer Grey be a better fit than fellow new cast members Audrina Patridge, Florence Henderson, Margaret Cho, Bristol Palin and Brandy Norwood?

The answer: Tony wants to do Patrick Swayze‘s iconic Dirty Dancing dance move with Baby herself! “Of course I’d [love to do the lift]!” the 37-year-old dancer enthused to HollywoodLife.com exclusively at Kari Feinstein’s Style Lounge at the Montage hotel in Beverly Hills August 27. “I did tributes to Patrick Swayze so it would only be big!”

One thing is for sure — anyone will be better than his last partner, Kate ‘two left feet’ Gosselin; the two infamously didn’t get along on OR off the dance floor! “I try to make the best of every situation. I don’t necessarily try to set my  heart on someone – if you don’t get them, then you’re disappointed and you might not be happy with who you have,” he told us, adding, “I always look at the new season as a new challenge.”

Time to take Baby out of that corner, Tony, and make some magic on the dance floor!

The season 11 cast was announced August 30 and the partners will be announced Sept. 2. Who do YOU think would make great matches?

Laura Schreffler & Russ Weakland
