Hollywood’s finest probably spent most of the weekend primping and preening to look their very best at last night’s Emmy Awards, but not George Clooney. Of course the coolest man in movies took it all in stride.
George prepped for Emmy night by playing a little basketball with Office star John Krasinski.
“My day today was, John Krasinski came over to my house with a bunch of guys and we played basketball. If you see him later, he’s limping. I just wanna say, you know, he’s lost a step,” George said right after winning the Bob Hope Humanitarian Award.
Even after so many years in the business in the spotlight George still gets starstruck.
“At one point I was standing next to Tom Selleck and Al Pacino and it was, you know, it’s a very funny. It’s still Tom Selleck and Al Pacino and I’m suddenly 14 years old again,” he said backstage.
He won the award for his charitable efforts across the globe, something he said he felt a little odd about accepting.
“First of all, this is obviously a very different type of award than getting something for acting. It’s embarrassing because you don’t want to be awarded for doing something you’re supposed to do. It feels like you’re being celebrated for something you’re supposed to do. To be able to talk about issues again and bring up things — friends who are in Pakistan who aren’t getting attention at all[...] I have uncomfortable feeling, because it feels odd. It’s a very kind thing. You accept it, but it’s hard to take,” George said.
So humble, so sexy and apparently so good at basketball. Elisabetta is indeed a lucky lady!
