My one wish for Emmy week was to chat one-on-one with the brilliant, Emmy-nominated actress, Connie Britton — and Friday night my goal finally came true!
Earlier this week, I announced on Twitter that my one major goal for the Emmys (besides losing 20 pounds) was to get an “exclusive” with my favorite actress on the small screen, Friday Night Lights‘ Connie Britton — and last night, a fateful Friday evening in West Hollywood, Calif., my dream came true.
We were at Entertainment Weekly and Women In Film’s Pre-Emmy Party at the exclusive Sunset Marquis hotel, and of course, Connie — who’s nominated for Outstanding Actress in a Drama for her role as the best mom in the universe, Tami Taylor — was in a rush to get inside. Meanwhile, I was too excited to speak…which created a combination that led to a somewhat jumbled, overly enthusiastic and slightly awkward interview.
She threatened to kill me (I’m not kidding) and reassured me FNL would end on a happy now, while I giggled like a nervous schoolgirl. All in all, it was a gem of an interview and I’m posting it here for the world to see. Cut, print…Pulitzer! Or as I prefer to say, ‘Boom slam!’
