So sad! Martin Short’s wife passed away at their Pacific Palisades home after battling cancer since 2007. The very private Nancy requested no funeral and is survived by Martin and her three adult children.
Sad news, BFFs. We have just learned that Martin Short‘s wife, Nancy Dolman, died Saturday, Aug. 21, at the couple’s home in Pacific Palisades, Calif. after a long battle with cancer. She was 58-years-old.
A dource close to the family told Radar Online that Nancy, “chose to keep her health problems quiet.”
Martin, who’s best known from Saturday Night Live and Father of the Bride, met Nancy in 1970 during a Canadian production of Godspell. The couple married in 1980 and had three children — Katherine, 27, Oliver, 24 and Henry, 20.
In an odd twist of events, Martin got his big break on Second City Television, a Canadian comedy program, alongside fellow comedian Rick Moranis. Rick also lost his wife suddenly in 1991 to liver cancer.
Martin was recently nominated for an Emmy for his performance on the television show Damages, though it is unknown if he will be attending the Aug. 29 ceremony.
We’re sure Nancy will be missed by her family and her community.
