Wall Street 2 star Michael has a tumor in his throat, but is optimistic that he WILL get better!

This is terrible news! Michael Douglas’ rep confirmed today that the two-time Academy Award winner has cancer!

The Wall Street 2 star’s rep tells People that he has a tumor in his throat, and will under go eight weeks of radiation and chemotherapy. His doctor expect him to make a full recovery though. Phew!

“I am very optimistic,” the 65-year-old actor said in a statement August 16.

Although Michael has a strong support system in wife Catherine Zeta-Jones and children Dylan, 10, and Carys, 7, his year has been pretty awful so far. In addition to being diagnosed with cancer, his 31-year-old son Cameron was sentenced to five years in jail for heroin possession earlier this year in April.

Chemo is not fun my boy, hope u save your strength cause its going to kick you ass if you don’t. When something like a tumor can’t be removed, its grim.

i am glad he is so optimistic, but i cant believe the doctors arent removing the tumor, then treating him after.

i am actually so surprised. also, i am very surprised they are not doing a neck dissection while they remove the tumor in his throat, and then do treatment.

he can be positive and all, but i hope he gets a second opinion from the top head and neck surgeon in the country. period.

throat cancer is brutal. , and, any cancer, if you leave the tumor, and say it is inoperable, basically, is not an optimistic outcome.
