Typecasting much? Brit played a receptionist on How I Met Your Mother in 2008, and now insiders tell us she’s in final talks to play a similar role on Glee!

Baby, it looks like Britney Spears is about to play a receptionist on the small screen one more time. Glee creator Ryan Murphy has confirmed that the pop princess is nearly a lock to make a cameo on her episode of the hit show, and we know what he’s envisioning!

Britney’s episode is based on fantasies,” a show insider tells HollywoodLife.com exclusively. “The kids get drugged at the dentists office [John Stamos plays the dentist] and start having these dream fantasies. Britney will appear in the fantasies AND play a receptionist in the dentist office. The producers are putting the final touches on specifics as we speak.”

Epic! We love it! Plus, how can anyone forget how great Brit, 28, is at playing a receptionist? She was awesome as spazzy Abby on How I Met Your Mother in 2008.

Tuesday, Murphy told Ryan Seacrest, “Britney, I think 100 percent, is going to be on the episode [for a] couple of scenes. He added, “They have fantasies of how they can be like her.”

Star Mark Salling also confided one more secret of the hotly anticipated episode at the Blackberry Torch launch in LA last night. “I just learned – because I’m usually the last to know – that she’s going to be making a cameo and there’s going to be a football number. That’s going to be interesting!” the 27-year-old hottie said.”We haven’t done that since ‘Single Ladies.'”

This sounds like one totally trippy Circus of an episode, don’t you think, BFFs?
