It turns out the young actress may have cut off her hair to play the much coveted role of Lisbeth Salander!
It looks like Harry Potter fans will have a whole new series of films to watch Emma Watson in — she may be playing the lead in The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo! The UK Sun spoke with a source who said, “Emma has auditioned with director David Fincher and cut her hair to look the part.” And we think she is perfect!
This is the first time Emma’s name has come up for the part, with most of the talk centering around actresses like Natalie Portman, Kristen Stewart, Ellen Page, and a group of relative unknowns. While she is somewhat late to the game, we think Emma would make the perfect Lisbeth Salander and certainly has the talent!
Emma would join a cast that includes the previously announced Robin Wright Penn and Daniel Craig.
What do you think HollywoodLifers, can Emma pull off the role of The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo?

This is copy and paste journalism.
Watson hasn’t got the chops or the experience. Nothing which she has done indicates that she is capable of portraying such a complex and deeply disturbed character.
I think it will be controversial if she was cast in this role. The average Harry Potter and Steig Larsson fan are worlds apart (and about 20 years apart.) The controversy will come from the general public’s perception of Watson as a child actor (even though she is now a woman.)
