Renee Zellweger hasn’t officially signed on to the third Bridget Jones film yet. But why?
Women across the world love Bridget Jones for being so completely relatable: she’s ever-so-slightly overweight, has mad man problems and an overbearing mother. Renee Zellweger has portrayed the zany Brit twice now on the silver screen – so why should she balk at a third go- around?
Quite simply, the amount of weight she had to gain to play Bridget was NOT fun. Although you’d think it would be awesome to eat pizzas, ice cream and nachos galore, packing on the pounds was not a walk in the park for Renee.
“She had to be reminded to eat, as eating that much is not fun. You start to feel sick!” Jacinda Barrett, the 41-year-old actress’ Bridget Jones: The Edge of Reason co-star told HollywoodLife.com exclusively at the LA premiere of Middle Men August 5. “That kind of food doesn’t make you feel good.”
Renee packed on 28 pounds per movie by eating as many doughnuts as her body could handle and has said the experience was terrible. “I had a panic attack with all the specialists talking about how bad this is for you long-term, putting on that much weight in short periods of time,” she told the Daily Mail.
In addition to the obvious health issues, we bet we can also guess why Renee doesn’t want to eat her feelings one more time – and his name is Bradley Cooper.
