Jon Gosselin is trying to repair his image 140 characters at a time, but he couldn’t resist slamming his ex, Kate.

Scrolling through Jon Gosselin’s Twitter account, you’ll see enough exclamation marks and smiley faces to think that Jon has hired one of his 9-year-old twins, Cara or Mady, to manage his page. With wallpaper that shows Jon posing with his new girlfriend Ellen Ross, the father of 8 regularly tweets messages like ” hope you’re having a great day so far!” and “Pool water felt great today!!!!” and shouting out individual love to his more than 80,000 followers.

It seems as if Jon is trying hard to change his tabloid image as a party-loving, irresponsible, deadbeat dad. While in the past we’d seen occasional tweets where he was on rumor patrol, over the past two weeks, Jon has been on a Twitter assault, tweeting almost constantly, and notably about his children saying, “Nothing better than 8 little hugs and kisses :)” and “Missing my kids sooo much,” before tweeting 3 hours later, “Can’t wait till i see my kids next! miss them so much!!” So is Jon for real or is he hellbent on a publicity makeover via Twitter?

We were almost buying into his rehabilitated image until we saw a Tweet about his ex-wife, Kate. On August 1, a fan tweeted Jon a video called “Kate Gosselin Is A Bitch” from YouTube and Jon replied, “Oh man!! That video is HILARIOUS!!!! Thank you so much for sharing! lol!!!!!” That might give us a peak inside how he will treat the subject of Kate in his new tell-all.

But Jon has taken another small step towards pulling his weight as a father: He’s found a job. Well, sort of. His Twitter page is littered with sponsor tweets — messages that are paid for by companies that ask Jon to endorse their products. In response to questions from his fans, Jon defended his new moneymaking venture claiming “ellen does them ALL the time and makes a lot of money.”

So tell us, do you think Jon has turned over a new leaf?
