It was a difficult decision to make, but my work schedule became more than I bargained for. I also realized this season that while I love discovering, supporting and nurturing young talent, it was hard for me to judge people and sometimes hurt their feelings. I loved the experience working on Idol and I am very grateful for the year I had. I am a huge fan of the show and will continue to be.”The co-creators and executive producers of the hit reality show said there are no hard feelings between the fallen judge and Fox.

“We will miss Ellen, she has been the consummate professional throughout her time on the show, and she’ll always be part of the AMERICAN IDOL family,” Idol executive producer Cecile Frot-Coutaz wrote.

Ellen took to her twitter page to let her fans know about her major decision, July 29: “Dim the lights … I’ve voted myself off American Idol.”

It’s not a loss. Ellen didn’t bring anything to the show. I’m not sure how Jennifer will do.

Ellen… I love that gal! Always classy, oh so funny. It would definitely put a nice twist on things to have J-Lo and Tyler. They are both very blessed and talented individuals. I would most likely watch the show even more so with Tyler on instead of Cowell (no disrespect to the latter).

I believe that since all the judges are leaving,
then perhaps it is indeed time for flipping of
the page and begin anew will ALL new judges.

Everyone has been fantastic with their own
unique personalities and I wish them well
as they resume their “other jobs”.

Looking forward to continued viewing of
American Idol with it’s new cast of judges.
Remember, it is the talent that is important
in giving them a start in the music business.
