From judges’ favorites to the ones who almost don’t make the cut, we know which designers you should keep your eye on this season on Project Runway!
Hey BFFs, Project Runway is back and it’s better than ever! But there’s a twist on the hit Bravo show’s 8th season…
The catch: The 17 new designers are still auditioning for the final cut of the show; one ore MORE will be sent home by judges Michael Kors and Nina Garcia before even entering the competition!
Not only do the designers face this new and unexpected challenge, but they also have to use a randomly chosen item by another competitor for their design – and they have to MAKE IT WORK. “Please open up [your bags] and pull out one item you would like to incorporate into your garment,” says host Heidi Klum. Now, “pass it to the person on your right!” Obviously, this doesn’t work out so well for some of the contestants…but who will be going home?
Here are the designers you should keep an eye on:
Christopher Collins, 30, from San Francisco is an early favorite for Heidi. “His style is elegant and wearable,” the German model says. Plus, “he’s cute too!” (Don’t worry Seal — Heidi admitted to HollywoodLife.com EXCLUSIVELY during the Project Runway Season 8 premiere party at NYC’s Empire Hotel July 28 that “I only have eyes for my husband — he has no reason to be jealous!”)
Casanova, 33, originally from Puerto Rico, seems to have some interesting concepts an “unusual” ways of making his design dreams reality. Just wait until you see his first piece — it’s incredible!
Gretchen Jones, 28, from Portland, OR, — the judges think she is extremely talented and very confident!
Ivy Higa, 30, from Kailua-Kona, HI, comes out as arrogant… but the judges are excited to see what she will bring to the table. She’s already started her own line two years ago called “Ivy H.”
Peach Carr, 50, is the oldest designer in the group. She thinks that her “wisdom” will give her the edge on the competition, but does she have enough creativity to wow the judges?
Jason Troisi, 33, from Greenwich, CT is definitely being closely monitored to see if he’s actually capable of designing (yep, that good, lol). Jason also proves that he’s the player of the season when he ogles the model he’s fitting with his dress and even makes a comment about her boobs being a distraction!
Be sure to watch the season premiere of Project Runway tonight, July 29, at 9:00 p.m. on Lifetime.
