The 27 year-old star of The Bachelor and Dancing With the Stars is due in February!
Melissa Rycroft and her husband, insurance agent Tye Strickland, 29, were just married in December, but wasted no time starting a family, even though that wasn’t originally the plan. “It was a shock. We weren’t even trying,” she told Us Magazine. “It’s the most wonderful surprise in the world. It’s such a blessing.”
Rycroft Strickland, who is gearing up to start her new job, co-hosting ABC’s Bachelor Pad (which debuts Aug. 9), admitted that starting a family was not exactly a high priority. “He wanted the kids right away, and I was laughing at him going, ‘No, not ready!’” Still, both were incredibly excited about the good news. “He’s actually cried more than I have,” she said. “Tye is caring, he’s funny. He’s going to be a great dad.”
Between the pregnancy, the new show and having just bought a new home near Dallas, Melissa’s going to be busy! Congratulations, Melissa!
