An expert weighs in on whether it’s OK for the supermodel mom of four to feed her kids junk food.
When you’re in the mood for a Big Mac, it’s clear that only a Big Mac will do, which is something Heidi Klum totally understands. A frequent visitor to the Golden Arches, she brought her kids along with her in New York on Monday afternoon for a little junk food fix.
“I love junk food,” Heidi, 36, said back in 2008. “I love fries and Big Macs, but I eat very healthy too. And I think when you have a great balance… I’m a very fit person. I move around and I get a lot of exercise. I think if you have that kind of lifestyle you can have your Big Macs and fries too.”
But there is such a thing as too much fast food, though it doesn’t appear like Heidi and her kids are overdoing it. “Generally, everything in moderation is fine,” New York pediatrician Rebecca Farber tells HollywoodLife.com. “Once a week getting fast food is more than enough. The trick is to be careful about things like soda and juices and processed food. That’s one of the reasons why there’s so much more obesity now than in 1980. Kids are far more obese now than they used to be.”
So as long as we don’t see Heidi and her kids (Leni, Henry, Johan and Lou) chomping down on fries again this week, it’s fine!
