Angie’s latest film pulls in a very impressive $37 million, but is no match for last weekend’s champ ‘Inception!’
It seems like people would rather dream at the movie theater then check out Angelina Jolie as Inception topped Salt at the weekend box office. Our sister site Deadline Hollywood reports Inception made approximately $44 million in its second weekend in release while Salt fell somewhere between $36.5 million-$37.7 million. Still an incredibly impressive amount, especially for a film with a female lead!
As for the rest of the top 5 they were, as has been the case all summer, children’s films! Despicable Me pulled in $24.5 million, The Sorcerer’s Apprentice a strong $9.8 million, and Toy Story 3 continued to impress with $9.7 million, bringing its total take to an amazing $380.2 million. Wow!
