The Oscar-winning actress and her ex-boyfriend teach other estranged Hollywood couples an important lesson as they put their daughter’s needs first.
We all know breakups suck, and sometimes it’s difficult to even share the same planet with an ex. But Halle Berry and her ex Gabriel Aubry are putting their differences aside so that they can both be there for their 2-year-old daughter, Nahla. The trio were seen at LAX on Saturday where they boarded a flight to South Africa, where Halle will star in the thriller Dark Tide.
With Halle, 43, set to spend several months halfway across the world shooting a movie about a diving instructor who returns to deep water after a near-fatal encounter with a Great White Shark, father Gabriel, 34, decided to pick up and move down there with her and their daughter. That way he doesn’t miss out on any special toddler moments and can in fact take care of Nahla while Halle is busy on set.
When the couple split back in May, Gabriel made it clear that his daughter comes first, saying that he and Halle “have been blessed with the most amazing daughter in the world, and her happiness and well-being are the most important thing for both of us.”
Nowadays, when Hollywood is full of warring exes like Mel Gibson and Oksana Grigorieva, it’s nice to see parents who have been able to figure out a way to co-exist peacefully for the sake of their child.
