‘SYTYCD’ SHOCKER! For The First Time Ever, No One Is Eliminated Because The Judges Couldn’t Make Up Their Minds!

None of the bottom three dancers were kicked off this week on So You Think You Can Dance — but that means TWO people will go home next week! Yikes!

After all the recent injuries shaking up the competition on So You Think You Can Dance this season, you’d think the show couldn’t get any stranger – but it did! Last night judges Nigel Lythgoe, Adam Shankman and Mia Michaels dropped an unprecedented bombshell: for the first time in the show’s five-year history, the bottom three dancers
were all saved from elimination!

Contemporary dancer Billy Bell, who chose to sit out this week due to a knee injury, was automatically placed in the bottom three. Robert Roldan and Jose Ruiz joined the frontrunner later to dance for their lives, and they both surely did. In fact, many people in the studio were on their feet after they performed their solos.

When judgment time arrived, Nigel admitted on camera, “We haven’t made up our minds.” After critiquing the three guys one-by-one, Nigel announced that because Billy couldn’t be judged against the other dancers, as he hadn’t performed, there would be no elimination! But watch out, BFFS – this means that two of your favorites might be going
home next week during the double elimination round!

The audience went wild after hearing the good news, although I couldn’t help but notice that the dancers who had already been led to safety -– Kent Boyd, Lauren Froderman, and Adechike Torbert -– looked way more shocked than the guys who were nearly sent home!

It may have been surprising, but personally I’m glad that the judges came to this decision. I would’ve hated to see Billy leave – he’s awesome!

Perhaps you’re new to the show Karen. The ‘judges’ ‘coulda/shoulda’ sent the ‘head spinner’ home given his sketchy body of work, consecutive bottom 3 placement and limited growth over the span of weeks. It’s my understanding that Billy Bell was given clearance to dance a mere 3 hours before the show aired on Wednesday and not at all on elimination night. Sounds like a lot of manipulation by the producers to keep a b-boy around that can’t even compete in his own genre.
At any rate, it’s your review, so you’re certainly free to take any position you like.

You think Billy was saved ???????????
I think it’s pretty definite that the boy who ‘spins on his head’ and can’t dance a lick was saved by the judges again.
The show is now officially a sham.

Too afraid to say the name Jose? ;)

I felt like they could’ve easily chosen to eliminate Billy because of his injury. They seemed to feel that Jose really danced for his life, and Robert, for that matter. Do I agree that ‘the boy who spins on his head’ should have been saved because of his solo alone? Not at all. But it is what it is. Let’s see how it goes down next week!
