Courteney Cox was photographed on the set of Scream 4 holding her enemy killer’s creepy ghost mask — does this mean she’s switching allegiances?

Courteney Cox has played innocent news reporter Gale Weathers for the last three installments of the now-legendary Scream films, but in Scream 4 will she turn out to be the infamous killer behind the ghost mask?

Judging from the set photos snapped this week, Courteney and the killer will have quite the run in, at the very least. Photos leaked of the 46-year-old actress clutching the now-legendary ghost mask to her chest, while standing next to her car in the woods looking frantically looking back and forth.

Sporting an all-black ensemble (leather jacket, jeans and boots), Courteney is alone and looks anxious in all the shots, which were taken at the film’s remote location on a farm outside Detroit, Mich.

Scream 4 will be released in 2011 — which is more than 10 years after Scream 3 freaked out audiences worldwide in 2000.
