It seems like only last week we were drying our eyes while watching Bethenny and hubby Jason get hitched. Actually, it was just TWO weeks ago — but time flies when you’re making babies!
Bethenny Frankel and Jason Hoppy welcomed baby girl Brynn last night on their Bravo reality show Bethenny Getting Married! And as expected, there was LOTS of drama! The baby came five weeks early, and the new couple was COMPLETELY unprepared for her arrival. Bethenny had her assistants running all over Manhattan in order to get ready for baby Brynn’s premiere!
And what’s an episode of Bethenny Getting Married without Bethenny’s classic wittiness?
The episode opened with Bethenny taking a baby safety and CPR class, seated between two other women and looking utterly baffled at the thought of having to give her baby back blows and chest compressions if need be. “I don’t like any of this and it scares me,” she blurted out as the two posh Upper East Siders sitting beside her completed the task in stride.
After her water broke in the middle of the night, she and Jason were so happy to get to the hospital and welcome the new baby into the world. But first, Jason had to make about 100 phone calls. Bethenny did not like this ONE bit! “This isn’t Marti-Gras!” she shrieked.
When they finally got to the hospital, Bethenny suffered painful contractions and ultimately decided to go with an epidural. After all, she didn’t want to act like “Shirley McClain in Terms of Endearment.”
She was literally floored at how much the pain subsided. ”What are you talking about? I’m at a bar!” Then, her assistant, Julie Plake, and Jason proceeded to fall asleep while Bethenny stayed awake until birthing time. How sweet — everyone was getting some well-deserved shut-eye before the craziness began — EVERYONE EXCEPT BETTHENY!
The episode ended with Bethenny’s decision to undergo a C-section, but not before one final thought from the Real Housewife: “I want to know how high school girls give birth in the bathroom stalls.”
The concluding shot was a birth announcement of Brynn, and her weight, 4 lbs.
Congrats (again!) to the new mommy and daddy!
