Is The Mysterious 'A' Gone For Good On 'Pretty Little Liars?' Last Night's Episode Changed Everything!

Just when I thought I had Liars figured out, the July 20 episode left me baffled! Is everyone else as confused as I am?

Waking up from a tumultous night, Emily (Shay Mitchell) found herself back in her room with the girls, who were still reeling from the night before! After lying to the police about “falling,” instead of coming clean about her altercation in the chemistry lab with Toby, the girls discovered it was TOBY who dropped off Emily at the hospital, but left town before being questioned. Could he have known that the police were on to him as a possible suspect in Alison’s murder?

As Hanna’s relationship with Sean draws closer to splitsville, she can’t handle being the keeper of Jenna’s (Tammin Sursok) twisted psych-file any longer. On last night’s episode, she decided to burn it, but not before Aria snatched it and dumped it into the river! This seemed like a quick fix… until Jenna surprised Emily at home, demanding she give the file back! Uh-oh…

Spencer (Troian Bellisario) felt awful about ditching her date Alex (Diego Gonzalez.) After trying to reschedule a makeup date, Spencer ventured to part of her country club where no other Hastings’ has gone before her — the kitchen! The two then decided to give their relationship a shot.

Meanwhile, Emily finally admitted to herself and Maya (Bianca Lawson) that there was something between them, and despite what people might think, she’s also ready to go ahead with a relationship.

Aria’s life continued its downward spiral, as well. Her hot-for-teacher affair is sizzling out now that her secret-BF Mr. Fitz (Ian Harding) stopped returning her calls. On top of that, her parents’ marriage is seriously falling apart, and it’s even affecting her younger brother!

Despite everything that happened in this latest episode, one character was noticeably absent … the mysterious “A!” Could the terror of Rosewood, Pa., be gone for good? I thought so, until the end of the episode when Emily received a similar text, suggested that red-herring Toby may not be “A” after all!
