In her second blog post, the 13-year-old fashion designer reveals her eclectic taste in music. We’re not sure if her mom, Madonna, would be proud or horrified!
The Material Girl’s Material Child is really getting into this whole “blogging” thing, discussing her latest obsessions and giving fans a peek into her upcoming fashion line. In her latest post on her Material World blog Lourdes Leon, the world’s coolest teenager, surprises us by raving about a movie nearly all teenage girls adore: Dirty Dancing. More specifically, the movie’s soundtrack.
“Be My Baby is suuuuch a redonculous song!” she writes, right after touting the magic of the latest Shrek movie (which she saw with her brother) and right before mentioning a couple other of her current faves, the bands Muse, Florence and the Machine and Grace Potter and the Nocturnals.
Lourdes goes on to talk about what color she’ll soon be dyeing her hair (“it’s actually going to be like a kind of cherry blackish thingy bobbie. OH MY DAIZ.”), an upcoming trip to East London, where she’ll be on the lookout for lots of vintage stuff, “cuz you can never have to much vintagy-thrifty looking stuff.” She also says, “in the Material Girl collection, there’s gonna be a whole area of like one of a kind vintage things! HOLLA.” Holla, indeed.
Her mom seems pretty excited about the upcoming fashion line, too, and is impressed with her daughter’s fashion sense, saying, “Lola’s influences, you know, watching films, watching music videos — she pays attention to what’s going on in the street and what people are wearing, and she’s much more fashion forward and savvy than I am at this point!”
