What can you do when your kids become teens besides ‘beat’ some common sense into them like Kevin does?

There is nothing worse than watching your kids grow old — especially when they just won’t listen to you anymore! That’s just what’s happening for actor Kevin Kline and his two children; son Owen, 18, and daughter Greta, 16. “It’s not hard to talk to them now,” Kevin sad sarcastically to HollywoodLife.com EXCLUSIVELY at the premiere for his new film The Other Man in NYC on July 19. “They just don’t listen! Or, they go, ‘Yeah, dad. Right …'”

But, the fact that his kids are getting older didn’t seem to bother Kevin that much. “I’m looking forward to their freedom,” he confessed. “The best thing is knowing that soon they will grow up and leave!” Sounds like Kevin is ready to get his own life back.

At least Kevin has a fun way of bonding with his kids until they leave the nest permanently. “I like beating them,” he joked.  “We [actually] make music together sometimes. I like jamming. That’s the most fun!”

And Kevin knows that he’s done all he can to raise them properly before they leave home. “My kids have impeccable taste and judgment,” he bragged. “I know that when they’re out, they’re not doing anything they wouldn’t do right in front of me!” Well that’s good to hear!

Kevin — we know you’re completely torn up about the fact that your kids no longer need their daddy. But, we want you to know that their going to be just fine — as long as they remember your wooden paddle when they start to do something “unacceptable.”
