Olympic gold medalist Nastia Liukin chatted to HollywoodLife.com exclusively about branching out from her professional gymnastics career to go to school AND design clothes for little girls!
She’s only 20-years-old, but Nastia Liukin already has an Olympic gold medal and nine World Championship medals under her belt – and now she’s ready to move on to bigger and better things – like a career in fashion!
“I have my own summer camp and I’m just taking different opportunities and experiences. I would love to do some more TV. I really want to go to school too and major in international relations or communications,” Nastia said of her life goals. “It’s a really tough decision [whether or not to continue gymnastics]. I’ve been in gym pretty much ever since I could walk. I always had the goal of going on the Olympic team [and I accomplished that]…I’ve just had so many great opportunities and they don’t come around all the time. When things slow down a little bit I will just reevaluate.”
While she’s thinking things through, we’ll be able to enjoy her new clothing line for girls between the ages of four and twelve, Supergirl by Nastia, which will be sold exclusively at JCPenney stores as of July 20.
“I’m very very excited about it. It has a very empowering message behind it,” she told us. “It’s a big honor for me. I’m hoping to inspire girls across the country and teach them to go after their dreams.”
