There were tears, hand-holding and no alcohol when Lindsay Lohan reunited with Samantha Ronson as she prepares to head to jail

Every cloud has a silver lining, right? Although she’s about to spend 90 days in jail and another 90 in rehab, something good has finally happened to Lindsay Lohan: her ex-girlfriend, Samantha Ronson, is back on the scene.

The ladies, whose year-long relationship was riddled with bar fights and bad vibes, seemed to reignite their romance over dinner at Beverly Hills’ Japanese eatery Matsuhisa July 11. “Lindsay and Sam were sitting very close together throughout the dinner; Sam was doing a lot of listening,” an eyewitness tells HollywoodLife.com exclusively. “Lindsay seemed to be talking a mile a minute.

“At one point, she got choked up. She looked very sad and was holding Sam’s hands, looking to be consoled. Sam obliged, got closer and hugged Lindsay, who had a few tears on her face.”

Although Lindsay, 24, and Sam, 32, didn’t eat much, they shared what they had; neither touched alcohol. Lindsay’s water glass was refilled so often that the waiter eventually left a pitcher at the girls’ table.

This meeting was NOT a typical girls’ night out. Says our witness, “Their meeting was definitely a reconciliation. Lindsay was very happy that Sam was with her. She used the word ‘trust’ often. ‘I trust you’ this, ‘I trust you’ that. After the consoling session, Sam paid and they left arm in arm.”
