Lindsay Lohan has reportedly been taking the powerful painkiller Dilaudid in addition to Zoloft, Trazodone, Adderall and Nexium – and docs tell HollywoodLife.com this is one deadly combination

Lindsay Lohan has been prescribed a plethora of pills for her health, but instead of helping her to heal, doctors say the drug cocktail she’s imbibing is lethal.

The 24-year-old starlet is currently taking Zoloft (antidepressant), Trazodone (antidepressant), Adderall (stimulant for ADHD), Nexium (acid reflux) and Dilaudid, a painkiller comparative to heroin, reports TMZ. This particular prescription pill has doctors worried that the actress might not live to see out her 90-day stint in jail, which begins July 20.

Dilaudid — a drug that was being used by both Michael Jackson and Anna Nicole Smith in the days before their untimely deaths — was allegedly prescribed after Lindsay’s recent dental surgery, but barring even the most serious dental surgery such as getting her wisdom teeth removed nearly two months ago, there is no reason a healthy 24-year old woman should have been taking this intense medication, dentists and doctors tell HollywoodLife.com.

Typically, Dilaudid is used for “intractable pain, disease states, people undergoing chemotherapy, certain cancers. You might even see it in some patients who have severe nerve pain,” pharmacist Eddie Bubar of Eddie’s Pharmacy in West Hollywood tells us, adding, “But other than that, that would be about it. You wouldn’t see it for everyday pain relief.”

The majority of those who DO need Dilaudid take it through an IV because the pill form is so strong that doctors are reluctant to prescribe it.

Sadly, most patients take this drug for recreational purposes, Bubar says, explaining, “Dilaudid creates a ‘drunk’ feeling. You would have a loss of balance, equilibrium, slurred speech, reaction time would be delayed – some people might even just pass out.”

One of the negative side effects of Dilaudid is that it can eventually lead your body to stop breathing, according to Dr. Morgan Poncy, the Medical Director of Sunrise Detox, a luxury drug and alcohol facility in Fla. The drug is also highly psychologically addictive.

“Once people become addicted, they lose common sense. They use more and more and more. They need a higher dosage for euphoria. They don’t act reasonably. They let themselves go. Their hygiene habits go, I saw [Lindsay Lohan] on the news last night, she looked like crap. Addictions require more and more and more and you act foolish to get it,” Dr. Poncy, who has not treated Lindsay, explains. “You break the law, you let yourself go physically, you don’t show up to work. Those are behaviors are addiction. As an addict, you behave badly to get the drug.”

Not only is Lindsay taking one of the strongest (and most dangerous) painkillers on the market, but she’s also been prescribed a dangerous mixture of anti-depressants and stimulants — something Los Angeles-based addiction expert Marty Brenner says might kill the actress before she even begins to serve her 90 days in jail.

“This 14 days [before her time in jail] gives her an excuse to really use drugs,” Brenner tells HollywoodLife.com. “Because she has the signs of an addictive personality, she’ll abuse it. She’ll say, ‘Screw it. I’m going to jail.’ It’s scary. She could take Dilaudid, or take all of them. If she survives all that — I hope she will — she will have one of the toughest, hardest detoxes of her life.”

Brenner, who has worked with the Lohan family before, advises them to hire an addiction specialist or doctor to monitor Lindsay so as to make sure she doesn’t overdose during this vulnerable time. Lindsay is required to appear in court at 8:30 a.m on July 20. At that time she will be taken to Century Regional Detention Facility in Lynwood where she is to stay for 90 days, followed by 90 days in court-ordered rehab — if she doesn’t succumb to her unhealthy addictions, that is.

“For 20 days, she better be watched. My suggestion is to wean her off it now,” Brenner says.”She’s on a road of disaster going downhill fast…faster than you think.”

I was given Dilaudid for sever back pain when I broke my back and herniated discs. It is a class 3 drig which means you CANNOT get this drug at a pharmacy. You have to get it from a HOSPITAL pharmacy. I took maybe two pills and decided NO THANKS! I could not do anything but lie in my bed…and watch my room spin, and my talk was slured and I could not get out of bed. Even in so much pain….which by the way I shortly after ended up having major back surgery and was NOT given this drug again…ever. I did get regular shots of morphine every so many hours for two weeks but after that NOTHING! So, for Lindsay to be given this horrible strong drug for her teeth is RIDICULOUS! The dentist needs to be looked into as this seems out of line if you ask me giving this train wreck such STRONG drugs. I think she had to have really played the dentist for a fool and tricked him into giving her this med, OR this dentist is like so many of these Hollywood doctors we hear about medicating famous people beyond what they really need. What Lindsay is taking IS a very DANGEROUS drug and really it is uncalled for. I am just flabbergasted that any dentist would give this girl this kind of a narcotic and think it is ok. I have had a lot of stuff done to my teeth and not once did my dentist ever mention such a powerful drug for dental relief. Something is not right for this dentist to give her this…..needs looking into. Lindsay, you are a mess!

I’m amazed this girl was allowed to work with children in Morocco. She isn’t a good role model and if indeed she does all the drugs mentioned here she is putting her life and other people’s life at risk. I’m more appauled at her working with children and being flaunted by the media. I hope kids see now what not to be or do. I hope she spnds every second and than some so this is a lesson. I can’t believe she has been allowed to drive also. Who does she think she is to be so loose and just keep smiling, and the finger. How tacky, how classless, how immature. Yes her parents are worse, but there a kids who never had parents or who have been throught wars, etc, and it’s no excuse. A 16 year old know the difference between right and wrong and she needs to grow up and hopefully stay out of the public eye for good. If she chooses to continue being a crack head, do it in private and stay out of our kids view. No funney now, is it Lindsey.
