We’ve FINALLY eliminated Melinda — now it’s time for some real competition!

I’m so relieved that America and the judges finally came to their senses and chose to eliminate Melinda Sullivan this week. I really did admire the tap dancer’s determination to live up to new challenges, but I couldn’t connect with her at all –- and apparently, neither did most of America, seeing that she was in the bottom 3 every week!

Robert Roldan and Billy Bell, who are always seemingly together, also found themselves in the bottom three together last night. I was NOT shocked to see both of them in danger, seeing that Robert had to dance for his life last week and hearing the judges tell Billy on Wednesday night that he had to work on connecting with his partner AND the audience. Those boys need to step up their game!

We got a real treat when it was announced that all 12 all-stars would come back every week to perform their signature pieces from their respective seasons, starting with season fours’s Mark Kanemura and Courtney Galiano reprising their Sonya Tayeh jazz to “The Garden.” I cannot wait to see my old favorites every, single week!

Speaking of all-stars, Nigel Lythgoe said during the telecast that not only will the top nine dance with an all-star they’ve never danced with before next week, but they’ll also be paired up with another one of their competitors for a second routine!

Could this mean that we’ll be seeing more guys dance with each other since there are only two girls left now? Hey, Alex and tWitch worked it out – those dances could be epic!

What did you think of last night’s results? And which pairings are you looking forward to for next week?
