Find out what these super talented designers had to say about their new line — and how they can’t get enough of Kristen Stewart’s style!
Treesje designers Sheila Nazarian and Laura Darrah seem to know exactly what A-listers like Nina Dobrev, Nicole Scherzinger, Jessica Szohr , and AnnaLynne McCord can’t get enough of — so it’s no surprise that their latest collection was inspired by one of the most iconic female rockstars, Joan Jett!
So, what is it about the rock legend that led them to create a line around her? “Her rebelliousness… and utter fearlessness to take on rock n roll during an era ruled by men. She truly pioneered female rock and owned it,” they said. Both gals said they loved the flick the Runaways— especially because of the style! “What isn’t there to love about 70’s fashion? The boy shirts, the feathered hair, the carefree tomboy fashion… they all looked amazing!”
Although the designers said they began working on the Jett Collection, which features multi-toned leather and studded bracelets, wallets and belts ranging from $48-$178, over six months before the movie premiered, it definitely provided some added inspiration! “As LA Designers, we love the laid back yet edgy style of a simple tank and a studded bag. We feel it [The Joan Jett Collection] represents the simple yet edgy style of 70’s rock ‘n roll fashion. The movie definitely inspired us to keep the edgy inspiration throughout our future collections as well!”
So, was the savvy design duo pleased with the way Kristen Stewart portrayed Joan Jett? Not only did they think she did an amazing job, but they’re obsessed with her style — both on the red carpet and during the day! “Kristen has great versatile style… She has such a casual and edgy street style, yet she transitions so glamorously to the red carpet.”
With the success of the Runaways, it seems like the perfect time to launch such an edgy/chic collection — and according to the super talented designers we can expect to see a lot of rock influence come fall! “The rock ‘n roll theme plays a huge roll in our entire fall collection. We used a lot of raw leathers, large zipper teeth, deep jewel tones, and of course a variety of studs.” Considering how wearable the latest collection is, I can’t wait to see what they have in store!
