Bad Move, Lindsay Lohan — Show Biz Pros Say You Should Have Chosen A Less Risqué Comeback Role Than Linda Lovelace In 'Inferno!'

A casting director, producer and feature film director tell HollywoodLife.com why trying to resurrect your career by playing a porn star is a bad move!

As Lindsay Lohan’s personal life has spiraled out of control, her career has taken a major hit as well: she hasn’t made a semi-successful movie since Disney’s 2005 remake of Herbie: Fully Loaded! Unfortunately, three entertainment industry pros tell us the 23-year-old actress’ next film, Inferno, in which she portrays porn star Linda Lovelace, will most likely NOT be the comeback Lindsay so desperately needs…in fact, it’s probably going to be an epic disaster that might just ruin her for good!

“From a director’s point of view, Lindsay shouldn’t have taken this role,” a feature film director told HollywoodLife.com after looking at pages of the Inferno script. “It’s not going to do any good for her already tarnished reputation — I think this movie hits a little too close to home. If she’s serious about getting her career back on track, she needs to take on a more mature and sophisticated role to show how her talent has progressed over the years.”

In the film, which is set to begin filming as early as August, Lindsay has filthy lines like, “Is there anything in this life I like more than cock sucking? Okay. Well, one thing. On OCCASION. I love it when my man Chuck socks it to me in the ass” and “I was put on this earth for one thing and one thing only — sucking a footlong cock!”

After hearing the sordid lines and seeing the graphic promotional shots for the film, a film studio casting director also agreed Lindsay should have thought twice about her newest role. “I’d have to see the script in it’s entirety, but from what I’ve seen, I don’t see this as an Academy-Award winning movie,” the pro told us, explaining, “It seems raunchy and puts me in the mind of [Boogie Nights fictional porn star] Dirk Diggler.”

Even if the film is well-produced, directed and acted (three MAJOR ifs), there’s also the worry that audiences will feel uncomfortable watching the young starlet reenacting the hard-partying lifestyle that brought her to her current SCRAM-bracelet wearing state in the first place.

“My issue isn’t with the graphic sex and language, but I do think it will be painful to see a very sad person’s life opened up to the masses,” the casting director said, sympathizing, “Linda Lovelace’s life hits too close to home to Lindsay’s.”

The pros are worried about more than just Inferno‘s production value. It’s up to Lindsay to also be spot-on and responsible on set, which is something she hasn’t been able to do since 2004.

“This could put Lindsay in a league with good actors, but she’s got to be f—–g perfect on set,” producer, former casting director and creator of BigIsGood.TV Lauren Lloyd said. “She can’t be late. She can’t be unprofessional. It’s going to be a study.”

While filming Herbie: Fully Loaded in 2005, Lindsay started to show signs of flakiness and her image on the film’s poster was reduced in size because of un-Disney-like behavior. But Lindsay really started having problems while filming Georgia Rule with Jane Fonda in 2007. In fact, a film executive became so fed up with Lindsay’s tardiness and partying that he wrote a scathing letter to the actress deeming her “irresponsible and unprofessional.” Since then, Lindsay’s horrific reputation has caused her to be dropped or fired from three different films, including Oscar Wilde’s A Woman of No Importance, The Edge of Love and Poor Things.

But after getting into more trouble with the law, Lindsay says she’s changed and ready to show a different side of herself in Inferno. “The way that [director] Matthew [Wilder] wants to shoot it is not vulgar,” the actress told the Sydney Morning Herald recently, reiterating, “It’s not about the raw sex and the shots of her fully nude. It’s more about getting into her psyche and seeing how scared she was. That’s what I want to show most in the film.”

Thankfully, our experts tell us Muse Productions (the company creating Inferno) is a legitimate establishment with “some pretty nice stuff” under its belt, which adds to the credibility of the potentially way-too-provocative project.

Even though Inferno seems less than picture-perfect for Lindsay right now, there’s still hope for the young actress to make her much-needed and much-delayed comeback.

“If she pulls this off in a brilliant way and she does a great job, this could turn her career around and even get her the sympathy vote. It could be award-winning,” Lloyd said. “If she doesn’t, she’ll have her hands full.”

The “Bad Move” is HollywoodLife crediting the movie wrong. That pic was from I Know Who Killed Me, not Inferno.
