Blair Waldorf is going to have some serious competition for the queen of mean crown this fall when Melrose Place star Katie Cassidy joins the cast of Gossip Girl!
The 23-year-old blond vixen will play a Columbia student/Nate Archibald’s (Chace Crawford) love interest, reports EW’s Michael Ausiello. It’s no surprise that Katie — who has a played a witch with a b on shows like MP and Supernatural will “make trouble” and “is not what she appears.”
Nice casting choice, CW! It doesn’t hurt that Katie has become super-close with Blair’s real-life portrayer, Leighton Meester, while filming the teen comedy Monte Carlo this summer in Paris. Perhaps Leighton put in a good word for her bestie?
