Our die-hard Twi-hard Shawn has been camping out at the Nokia Theatre LA Live — and it is BEYOND a scene. Read his report here!
Shawn Evans, 17-year-old high school student extraordinaire, would do anything for his Twilight peeps, including camping out for FIVE – count ‘em – FIVE days in downtown Los Angeles in preparation for Eclipse’s June 24 LA premiere. But is pitching his own tent, sleeping on the cold cement and wrestling to prevent line-cutters really worth it to catch a glimpse of Robert Pattinson, Kristen Stewart and the Twilight Saga crew? Take it away, Shawn!

It’s about 8:30 PM and I’ve just arrived at the Nokia Theatre LA Live. I was pretty confident that I was the first to start camping out in line – which means that I’d be the first to score a wristband for the wide red carpet premiere of the Twilight Saga: Eclipse. Unfortunately, there were about 30-40 campers already waiting! Bummer!
My fellow Twi-hards were camped out with books, blankets and suitcases, ready to line up at 6 A.M. to get that coveted wristband. It wasn’t hard to make friends quickly – we were all there for a common purpose! More people showed up though, and security told us we had until 2 A.M. to leave the plaza and camp out on the sidewalk. But security changed the rules and told us that at 1 A.M. we’d be able to start lining up for five hours until we could get our premiere pass.
Around midnight I took a trip to Starbucks for sustenance, but just before the clock struck 12:30, screams and heavy footsteps started shaking the plaza. The line was open and it was first come first serve! Just like Bella ran for Edward in Italy, I ran with my Starbucks and was declared number 109.
Camping out in a line just to get in another line (AND being the 109th person to do so) was beginning to sound crazy to me. Was Taylor Lautner really worth this mess?

I tried to get some sleep, but that was kind of impossible. At 5:40 A.M. security let groups of 20 get wristbands. Once we got our wristbands, we were let into the plaza only to discover we’d be camping out in the middle of LA LIVE! Only die-hard Twilight fans are allowed in that section! It felt like a never-ending day for fans because of the lack of sleep, but it was worth it.
The rest of the day was pretty relaxing. We got a great view of Khloe Kardashian and her mother, Kris Jenner, during the Lakers parade. Khloe looked fab in a green and white striped dress, but also miserable and like she didn’t want to be there! Trouble in paradise?
The day dragged on. Fans kept on coming in and getting wristbands until 6 P.M. – and then finally – sleep time! All the local news stations have been coming here every day trying to get info about why we’re here, but isn’t it obvious? Until next time!
