Kristen Stewart is so busy with Breaking Dawn and On the Road that she doesn’t have time to shoot another movie. Hollybummer!
We’ve been holding our breath to see which hot young actress will land the coveted leading role in the American remake of Stieg Larsson‘s The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo — and even though we had our money on Kristen Stewart, the Twilight starlet says she’s just too busy to take on another part!
“I think I’m going to be working…[so]…no,” Kristen, 20, told reporters during an Eclipse press conference in Sweden June 20. “I mean, I have no idea. My next two projects are On the Road and Breaking Dawn. That’s the next sixth months, so I’m sure they are going to somebody great.”
Boo! It seems every hot young actress has been lobbying for the role of Lisbeth Salander in the big screen version of the crime novel trilogy, which highlights the unlikely partnership between an investigative journalist (Brad Pitt and Daniel Craig are rumored to be fighting for the role) and a genius hacker who’s been compared to an adult Pippi Longstocking (Scarlett Johannson, Natalie Portman and Carey Mulligan are all up for the part).
We guess we can cross K-Stew off the short list of contenders! Alrighty, HollywoodLifers – now that Kristen is out, who’s your second choice to take on the role of Lisbeth?

i think it’d be a mistake not to cast Kristen Stewart. she has an appeal to a diverse age range and Ellen Page just comes off as really, really, i mean really, butch. there’s nothing wrong w/that but when a character needs to be more complex, layered, and subtle (like Lisbeth) really think Ellen Page is not the actress for the role.
but if Daniel Craig is the lead the casting director also has to keep that in mind when casting Lisbeth. so who knows. if i really don’t like their decision i’ll just watch the original Swedish version.
