Now that his son is starring in the new Karate Kid movie, Will Smith is confident that it’s Jaden who will be paying the family bills in years to come!
With the release of the latest Karate Kid movie less than a week away, it’s already clear that the film’s star, Jaden Smith, is going to be catapulted into the same stratosphere as his box-office champ of a dad, which, by the sounds of it, is a good thing for Will Smith’s wallet!
“He’s giving me allowance now!” Will laughed exclusively to HollywoodLife.com at The Karate Kid’s LA premiere June 7. The 41-year-old actor was quick to boast of his boy, “I’m very proud, mostly of his discipline. You know he’s ridiculously focused. And he is not scared to cry to get what he wants.”
What Jaden, 11, wants, is a career like his dad’s, but he knows it’s going to take a lot of hard work to get there. When asked how long it would take for him to usurp his papa he humbly uttered, “”Ummmm a couple decades! Couple decades!”
Better hurry up, Jaden — your dad wants his allowance and he wants it NOW!
