'Movie Awards' Upset! Rain Wins 'Biggest Badass' Award Over Angelina!

Get to know Rain, America, it looks like he is going to be the next big thing after winning last night’s ‘MTV Movie Award’ for ‘Biggest Badass!’

Last night’s nominees for “Biggest Badass” at the MTV Movie Awards included; American heartthrobs Channing Tatum and Chris Pine, Australian action star Sam Worthington, and the world’s most famous mom and actor, Angelina Jolie, but it was South Korean pop star and actor Rain who walked away with the award for his performance in Ninja Assassin!

As we told you yesterday, Rain is one of the most beloved singers and actors in Asia, and it looks like he may start making his way over to America! Assassin is his second English language film, after Speed Racer, and he clearly has a huge global fan base given he edged out the other four superstars in his category!

“They told me I was nominated for the Badass award so I’ve been working out,” Rain joked when he accepted his award. The audience didn’t seem to understand his humor so he remarked, “Why so serious? Enjoy. Thank you so much. Thank you.”

What do you think about this possible new American star?

I love rain but honestly the only reason he won was cause all the Korean fan girls voted for him. I’m pretty sure that votes from Americans were minimal.

If any male kpop stars like 2pm were running for something online, because anyone can vote the Korean fan girls would be on it and ensure that they won.

I’ve always liked Angelina and her works. But in this category, Rain shined the most. Win was well deserved. He worked so hard for the role.
I don’t know why people didn’t get his joke? I thought it was quite witty.

I voted for Rain. I mean Angelina is badass in some of her films, but why was Salt even in the running0_o?? Is it even out? No! Thats why I voted for Rain! Ninja Assassin lacked plot (which I’m sure ‘Salt’ won’t) but Rain was totally badass. [Did you see how many people he freacking killed?!] Maybe Angelina will win next year…when we actually get to see her badass skills, not just the trailer-__-…

You know the funny thing is only in the stereotyping and condescending world of Hollywood and the American media where there is almost no racist end when it comes to belittling, stereotyping and negatively depicting Asian men, is someone as talented as Rain, unknown to most of the american public. As talented as this guy is as a singer/dancer/and now as an actor, if this was a white guy, he would have been so highly sought after by hollywood and the rest of american media in general. but because he is Asian, there is so much snubbing going on, it shows the racist inward attitude of most of Hollywood and the american media. it’s really embarrassing to say the least. I mean come on, when was the last time you seen a hollywood produced movie where you didn’t see an asian man portrayed in one of three or four stereotypical roles. Either as a weak foreign geek, liquor store owner, evil military general or Kung Fu master…..but mostly negative. You know roles like “Long Duk Dong” in sixteen candles or even the latest movie “Hangover.” What a joke! Do you mean to tell me that there aren’t any ASian American cops, or pilots or attorneys, etc?? Why do some of these white male producers, directors and writers always portray Asians in these stereotypes? What if, Hollywood showed movie after movie of women constantly portrayed as a house wife or prostitute or someone very dependent on a man? Wouldn’t that piss of some of you educated white women? Or what if, they only show Blacks as pimps, or drug pushers or lazy convicts? They used in the past but obviously not anymore. I see women in many “masculine roles now” holding guns, as detectives, doctors, leading scientists, judges, pretty much the entire spectrum of life. And same with Blacks…But for Asian men, its always the same three or four negative images. And it influences how the rest of society views ASian men. The next time, Asian men see these Assholes in hollywood produce another movie depicting an asian man a weak geek or some no speaka engrish foreign nerd, or Kung Fu guy………….they should flag down the director, producer or write and give him a good beat down! or at the least burn his car down!
