Anna Paquin Opens Up About Coming Out: 'It Wasn't Like It Was A Big Secret!'

The ‘True Blood’ star says coming out as bisexual was nothing remarkable and that she simply wanted to support the LGBT cause.

All of Hollywood was atwitter when Oscar winner Anna Paquin admitted back in April she liked both boys AND girls for an LGBT awareness ad, but to the actress herself it was no big deal! Anna told Zap2it, “I’m not someone who endlessly talks about her personal life for no reason, but obviously, as someone who identifies as bisexual, those are issues I really care about — and frankly, I don’t see why everyone doesn’t care about them. So when I was asked to participate in that PSA, it was just an obvious, ‘Well, of course I will.”

The actress, who is engaged to her True Blood costar Stephen Moyer, went on to say that her sexuality was not “a big secret” and she “just wanted to do [her] bit.” It really is amazing that such a talented and high profile actor is willing to face possible scorn to help out so many others. Good for you Anna!

Even better news for Anna fans, she will be back next week as HBO premieres the new season of True Blood on June 13th!
