EXCLUSIVE! Tom Cruise Might Be Presenting R-Patz With A MTV Movie Award!

Confused as to why Tom shot an MTV Movie Awards promo spot with Robert Pattinson? Let us clear up the mystery for you!

If you thought it was weird that Tom Cruise — as his Tropic Thunder character Les Grossman — made Robert Pattinson wash his glorious mane with dirt in a promo for the MTV Movie Awards, think again. Tommy C might just be presenting our boy R-Patz with the Best Global Star award this Sunday!

“Tom might be appearing in more vignettes onstage at the awards as Les or with Cameron Diaz, to promote their new movie Knight and Day. If they do it together, they’ll most likely be presenting Best Global Star or Best Movie,” an insider tells HollywoodLife.com exclusively.

And guess who’s nominated for Best Global Star? That’s right — Rob! He’s up against his real-life GF, Kristen Stewart, as well as his Twilight Saga: New Moon co-star Taylor Lautner, Harry Potter’s Daniel Radcliffe and Johnny Depp, but with Tom on his side, how can he lose?

Adds the source, “Producers may work in a bit to make fun of Tom’s couch-jumping episode on Oprah as well, especially if he comes out as Les. [Host Aziz Ansari] and the writers are still going through ideas, but apparently, Tom is pretty much willing to do almost anything. [Producers] want Tom’s appearance to be very cool, buzz-worthy and hilarious.”

We’ve got an idea — add more Rob to Tom’s scenes. That should do the trick!
