YAY! We can’t wait to see Julia guest star on Dexter! Will she be as bloodthirsty as star Michael C. Hall?

The rumors are totally true: Actress Julia Stiles, 29, is going to join the cast for season 5! “I’m going to LA at the end of June because I’m going to do the next season of Dexter,” she confirmed to exclusively at the after party for the benefit performance of Neil Labute‘s Filthy Talk For Troubled Times in New York City on June 3. “I’m going to be the guest for a season!”

Though Julia wouldn’t dish about her role on the hit Showtime series — “I’m not allowed to tell anybody that,” she said when we asked her about it — she did admit that she’ll be in all 13 episodes!

“I love that show, it’s such good writing,” Julia said. “You get to do even more than you do in a movie because you’re playing the same character for thirteen episodes!”

Julia starts filming at the end of the month, but has yet to meet any of her new co-stars including Michael C. Hall and co-star/wife Jennifer Carpenter. “I’ve only spoken to the show runners and writers over the phone about the concept of my character,” said Julia. But she’s clearly a fan of Carpenter’s: “She’s a terrific actress.”

Though Julia can’t wait to get to LA and start filming, she did admit that her one true passion remains performing on stage: “Even a one hour thing like this [Julia played “Waitress 2” in Filthy Talk] when we’re holding our scripts, it’s just so thrilling to be onstage! It’s more like a conversation — even a monologue, it’s a conversation with the audience.”

Be sure to check out Julia on the premiere of Dexter, September 26, on Showtime.
