Our very own American Idol judge tells us who he hopes to meet in the recording studio — and why, although his favorites didn’t win, he’s pleased with this season!

Blake Lewis has weighed in with his expert American Idol opinion on all season long, and now that it’s over, our own personal Idol judge confides that’s although he’s upset his favorite contestants didn’t win, overall he’s pleased by this season’s outcome!

“My favorite people didn’t win, but they did a good job. I picked Michael Lynche and Didi Benami and Crystal Bowersox for my top three and one of them made it to the finals, so I’m happy” the 28-year-old season six runner-up told exclusively at KIIS FM’s Idol viewing party May 27 in LA. He added, “There was a lot of criticism about this season, which I thought at first, but then I was like, ‘Well, if I was in my shoes and people would be saying stuff about me, then all I wanna do is do the job.”

Of which Idol he’d most like to work with, Blake picked golden-locked Didi Benami. “Definitely Didi,” he told us. “She’s got a really cool voice, like, Feist-y. I like Lilly Scott a lot because I like really jazzy vocalists.”

Blake, whose new single “Heartbreak on Vinyl” just went to #1 on Billboard’s Pop-Dance Radio play chart added, “I’d also love to see Crystal sing with my mom, because my mom’s a folk singer as well — and that’s why she was in my top three!”

Cheers, Blake! Your mom clearly has good taste. Until next season…
