Xavier plays newborn vampire Riley in The Twilight Saga: Eclipse…and he’s not quite used to all the attention just yet. Better start learning to deal with it fast, buddy!
Move over, Robert Pattinson! There’s a new vampire in town, and he’s absolutely adorable. 26-year-old Australian cutie Xavier Samuel is about to give the Twilight boys a run for their money when he joins the cast of Eclipse as newborn vampire Riley. But this hunky Aussie definitely didn’t fully prepare himself for the full glare of the Twilight spotlight!
“It was all very sudden, not just with the paparazzi but also with being cast in general,” Xavier told Teen Vogue. “I did an audition from Sydney on tape. Then I got word that it was down to four guys—and that I was one of them.”
Booking the biggest film series in the world is no small feat! Word on the street is that Channing Tatum and Harry Potter star Tom Felton were also competing for Xavier’s role.
The Twilight Saga: Eclipse premiere takes place June 24 in Los Angeles — and we cannot wait to meet Xavier in person!
