Here’s a bit of free advice to all the young women (and men) out there who one day hope to be rich, famous and successful. Don’t make a sex tape, don’t send raunchy text messages and don’t take scandalous pictures and send them to your friends. Everything will come back to haunt you.
Kendra Wilkinson‘s marriage and image are suffering because of an old sex tape just surfacing now. Hilarious comedian Chelsea Handler has been lambasted for a sex tape she made as a joke years ago when she was a struggling comedian. Miley Cyrus fans and their parents are upset about a video of the 17-year old giving her 44-year-old producer a lap dance.
We live in an age of over-information. Everything you say, or do or take pictures or video of can and most likely will end up in the wrong hands. That’s why the stars of tomorrow need to be smart about their decisions today. If you want to grow up to be an actress or a singer or an astronaut or CEO, don’t make a sex tape today. Don’t take raunchy photographs and don’t send text messages that you wouldn’t want your mother to see.
Everything leaks. Today we read the very private text messages between Rachel Uchitel and her married lover David Boreanaz;. In the heat of a passionate affair neither of them probably considered that their personal missives would make it into a third party’s hands and hence all over the Internet, but they did.
And that’s why you need to think before you hit send.
The question of whether or not to send sexy texts or make a sex tape isn’t a moral one. It is practical. Before doing anything that might cross a line stop and think. Would I want this broadcast on the Internet? Would I want my kids to see this? Use common sense and don’t fall into the same traps as these celebrities.
Sure Paris Hilton and Kim Kardshian were able to use their sex tapes to become famous, but they’re still not taken seriously by a lot of people in the industry.
When Kendra made her sex tape she probably wasn’t thinking, “Hey maybe I shouldn’t do this in case I get famous one day.” But she should have. And so should you. Because you never know who you’ll be five years from now and future you shouldn’t be saddled with regrets.

i agree with all these comments and completely disagree with jo. none of their careers were hurt and i doubt kendra’s will be either especially since her career began by dating the founder of playboy. if anything, their careers blossomed after dealing with a personal bump in the road that they needed to face themselves and move on from. i doubt in a few months anyone will care anymore and kendra and the rest of them will still be getting paid to attend clubs, be on mag covers, and guest star on shows (or have their own ones!)
