Miley Cyrus Defends Her Too-Sexy New Music Video: ‘My Dad Loves It!’

The actress and singer sits down to discuss her latest music video ‘Can’t Be Tamed!’

Miley Cyrus’ new music video ‘Can’t Be Tamed’ may be drawing fire for being too sexy, but the 17-year-old pop star says in a recent interview that her parents love it! The singer sat down with MTV to talk about the new video and said her mother was on set throughout the filming and father Billy Ray Cyrus “loves it.” We still think it may be a little too sexy Miley!

Miley goes on to say in the interview, “this video is not just selling sex.” Even though it features Miley with multiple men and wearing little clothing, she says there is a specific concept behind the video. “It’s not, oh, I’m sexy all the time and seeing how many wardrobe changes I can do.” For the record, the video only features three, mostly feathered, costume changes. One person we are sure is not complaining about Miley’s sexy video is boyfriend Liam Hemsworth, who will be receiving the ‘Breakthrough of the Year’ Award at HollywoodLife.com’s Young Hollywood Awards this Thursday, May 13!

I agree with what’s being said below me. Saying “my daddy loves it” is a HORRIBLE response. Honestly, I think something must be going on with that. you NEVER see her mom in the picture.

in regards to the video though, I will (very grudgingly) admit that the song isn’t bad. I feel like I would’ve loved it a LOT more if someone with talent sang it (Lady Gaga?). However, the video itself doesn’t need to be sexy when we have such pretty little lyrics. for example:

“Every guy everywhere just gives me mad attention like I’m under inspection. I always get a ten cause I’m built like that. I go through guys like money flying out their hands.”

“I’m not here…to tell you to go to hell. I’m not a brat like that.” (that’s debatable…)

“If you can understand this, we can make some magic.”

at 2:28, she’s almost kissing a girl, which could be a little racy for younger fans of hers (her only fans)

I’m sure if any of you have children that are Hannah Montana fans, around the age of 10 or so, you don’t want them singing along with things like that. You’ll get pulled into some principal’s office somewhere going “my daughter said WHAT?!?!”

all in all, I think she’s doing all of this for attention because she realizes she’s a subpar actress and her singing is only “good” because it’s being fixed by an army of machines in hollywood. She’ll be working in porn or following the shining examples of Britney Spears and Lindsay Lohan in about 2-3 years.

Yes, the video was sexy, perhaps too much so for someone her age. But it wasn’t about sex; it was an incredibly beautiful artistic concept.
I read this article before I watched the music video and stared at the screen after the video ended still waiting for the scandalous part.
I think it would be good for Miley to distance herself from Hanna Montana a little more slowly, and it worries me that she may turn into the next teenage Disney-created nightmare, but it’s also not s big of a deal as people are making it.

If she sang this song when she was 22 or something like that, it would be great. But the song is too big for her right now. But not bad.

Miley, you seem like a chill person, so just act your age. You are only 17 and have plenty of time to grow. If you wanna do everythin that an adult does, then why grow old in the first place. Enjoy your youth!

I do not understand the hype that is around this girl at all. I’m not trying to be a hater, but she needs to remember that she is still under the Disney title and that she is seen as a role model for all the children that watch her show. I cannot tell if Miley is going to be the nest Lindsey or the next Britney; but, I can say that is none of my business.

Her family obviously had different standards of behavior for a 17 year-old female than alot of other families. (Her last two boyfriends have supposedly shacked up with her in the family compound) The Cyrus’ shouldn’t be surprised, however, if parents with different standards don’t want their children who are fans of Hannah Montana to watch this video.

I think she is too young for this public image and it isn’t a good direction for her career. I predict she will be doing nude scenes in movies in two years. I’ll also be very surprised if she doesn’t end up like Lohan by the time she is 25.
