The summer movie season is officially underway as ‘Iron Man 2’ makes big bucks its opening weekend!
Iron Man 2 kicked off the summer movie season with an amazing $133.6 million this weekend. The film, which stars Robert Downey Jr. as well as the very toned Gwyneth Paltrow and the very stylish Scarlett Johansson can now claim the fifth highest opening weekend ever according to Box Office Mojo. Wow!
While the sequel to 2008’s Iron Man may have been a little heavy on the explosives and a little light on the humor it still managed to make more money in its opening weekend than its predecessor, which made 98.6 million dollars in May of 2008. It seems like we will definitely be seeing an Iron Man 3 sometime soon!
