Thanks To Lady Gaga, Michael Bolton's New Album Isn't A Total Snooze!

Lady Gaga and the king of soft rock, Michael Bolton, teamed up to record the single ‘Murder My Heart’ on his new album — and I actually LIKE it!

It seems like the most random pairing of all time, but Lady Gaga actually makes Michael Bolton’s new single, ‘Murder My Heart’, kind of awesome. Talk about a comeback!

Upon first listen, the Gaga-penned ballad on Michael’s 18th studio album One World One Love (which was released May 4) seemed underwhelming, especially considering it’s written by the current queen of pop/dance. But after listening to the song a second time, I could feel the 24-year-old genius start to sway me: the song was actually so catchy it’s now stuck in my head and won’t leave!

It doesn’t hurt that Gaga is the number one most influential person on the planet (or so says Time magazine), that she’s got mad street cred or that she’s wacky enough to erase some of his middle-of-the-road mom & dad pop stylings.

I dig it. Do you? Listen to the single yourself and tell us what you think!

I heard Michael Bolton’s new album on Tuesday. It is a solid pop album! Perhaps the most uptempo album he’s made after years of power ballad-heavy albums. Sound like he took the thumping beats of Ne-Yo’s hit Closer and even Alicia Keys’ No One and put it to use on several songs on the album. The One Thing is still my favorite album from him, but this is a close second. Liked the Murder My Heart song with Lady Gaga–very melodic after a few listens. And he does slip on his familiar power ballad mode later on before bouncing back up to another danceable or midtempo groove. Has some cool, icy electro-pop landscapes, but he sounds very good, his voice still sounding great!
