Katy Perry wasn’t ALWAYS a mega music star wearing glow-in-the-dark dresses to the Met Gala! She used to borrow dresses and raid Sephora just like the rest of us!

Before Katy Perry found fame with “I Kissed A Girl” in 2008, she was shopping for outfits in her friends’ closets and looking for free samples of mascara. The now mega-star tells Lucky ,“I was completely broke. I used to borrow outfits, get my makeup done at makeup counters, and then sneak into events. It was cool!”

Now she is besties with Rihanna and engaged to Russell Brand … and becoming quite a fashion icon. The songstress says her look has transformed “from Betty Boop to more Bettie Page … it’s less cute and more meow.”

Well, Katy, you’ve definitely proved you can do sexy! We can’t wait to see how you personalize your wedding dress!
