Katy Perry’s Met prep went something like this: Lipgloss? Check. Cell phone? Check. Batteries? Check.

When I first saw Katy Perry step out all lit up like a Christmas tree in her Cute Circuit dress with H.Stern top diamond stud three carat earrings at The Costume Institute Gala Benefit at the Metropolitan Museum of Art on May 3, it didn’t dawn on me that her little twinkling lights could fade out, but apparently that was the one thing Katy set out to avoid last night!

When her stylist, Johnny Wujek, was out and about scooping up the gorgeous jewels Katy would wear later that evening, he said that in order to stay bright, Katy was going to bring four battery packs along to the Met gala. Can you imagine towing around bulky batteries? I guess it’s all in the name of fashion! While Katy’s look was eccentric, it was also beautiful — I really like how Katy managed to stay true to her funky style in her glam gown.
