Angie reportedly turned down a much-coveted  invite to The White House Correspondents dinner!

Angelina Jolie continued to show she has no love for Barack Obama this weekend!

The actress, who has been vocal about her dislike for the current president, spent the weekend weekend filming The Tourist in Venice, instead of accepting an invitation to the prestigious White House Correspondents Dinner on May 1. Instead of mingling with Scarlett Johannson, Jessica Alba, and Jessica Simpson, Angie stayed in Italy with Brad Pitt and their six kids! Why?

One source told our friend “Naughty Nice Rob” at Popeater, “Angelina is always invited by several media outlets to sit at their table, but she always refuses.” We know you’re busy saving the world Angelina, but turn down a dinner with the President and First Lady Michelle Obama!

But is the actress just too busy … OR is she continuing her feud with the president?  Last December, Angie posted an open letter Newsweek.com, criticizing the Obama administration’s lack of action in Darfur. Hmm … maybe she just couldn’t get away from work. But either way, she missed her chance to hang with Justin Bieber!

What a biased write-up. The woman was working in Venice.

Would you have flown all the way for dinner with an administration you weren’t on terms with?

Take the picture of Obama of Angelina’s arm. She did the right thing by not going. She does have 6 kids to take care of.

Angelina has her priorities right, she walks the walk and a comedic president sharing too much over champaigne is a world away from the refugees who won’t be having a meal tonight.

This is a stupid story. I don’t understand why sites are reporting that President Obama personally invited her when the invitation came from a media outlet like CNN or LA Times. Also this invitation obviously isn’t prestigious when the big names are Scarlett Johannsen and Justin Bieber. This has been a C or D list event for years. If Angelina had attended she would have stuck out like a sore thumb. Also why isn’t Brad Pitt or other A list celebrities being bashed? I’m sure Brad got an invitation and he wasn’t working. It would be stupid to fly halfway around the world just to be in the same room as the President. Nobody actually gets to meet with him one on one.

I like Angelina Jolie but President Obama has a lot to worry about. He just can’t put all his efforts into Darfur. What about our country’s problems and Mexico as well as Haiti. Just because that is an issue that is important to her doesn’t mean the President has to jump to it. Everyone has a cause they want him to concentrate on.

The White House Correspondents dinner is basically a social event (that includes a bunch of D to Z list celebs). She doesn’t need the press so why fly from Venice where she is working. It has nothing to do with President Obama unless he alway made time to go in the past which doesn’t appear to be the case.

What a ridiculous “story”. She’s working in Venice and in the article’s own words she “always refuses” invites to these things. Wow, trying to stir up a non-event much? I used to have so much more respect for Bonnie Fuller…

Good for you Angie!! I don’t like him either. I’m glad not all Hollywood stars are star struck with this guy and his crew.

Did you even bother to read the story or did you not read that she’s in Italy?

He hasn’t been president very long did she really expect him to forgo our economic recession and send all of the money and aide we have left to darfur?

She’s clearly not donating nearly enough money, and she has MILLIONS.

i would respect any hollywood-ite that had the audacity to have their own educated opinion, even if it were an unpopular one with their peers.
