Lindsay Lohan’s lawyer says that his client is in “substantial compliance” with her terms of probation, which means the troubled starlet will avoid spending time in jail…for now.
Looks like Lindsay Lohan is getting off the hook, yet again! The starlet’s lawyer Shawn Chapman Holley, addressed reports that his client would be sent to jail for allegedly failing to follow judge’s orders to attend her alcohol education class one a week.
“Though there have been occasional weeks when Lindsay has missed her alcohol treatment class, she has always managed to make up the class the following week by attending two classes,” Holley tells TVGuide.com. “For this reason, we contend that Ms. Lohan is in substantial compliance with the conditions of her probation.”
TMZ reported earlier today that Lindsay had only been attending every 21 days, so as not be called in absent by the education center, but was not in compliance with her weekly meetings.
The judge ordered Lindsay to take classes after her second DUI charge in May 2007, where she pleaded no contest to DUI and reckless driving charges — and spent 84 minutes in jail.
Next month Lindsay will return to court where she will discuss the terms of her probation with a judge. Do you think she should be sent back to the slammer? Vote!
