Get ready for a major Met ball spoiler alert — these A-listers give a whole new meaning to the phrase, ‘fall into the Gap’!
While the Oscars and Golden Globes may be glam events, nothing can top the gorg gowns at the Met ball! The event isn’t until next week, (May 3, to be exact!), but news of what some celebs will be sporting is already starting to come out! The Gap, which is a major sponsor of the star-studded evening will also design dresses for the event, and believe it or not, this doesn’t mean gowns made of jersey and denim. The brand’s designer, Patrick Robinson, has teamed up with super talented designers to craft gowns for the big night! Although we’ll have to wait for the big night to see the actual designs, we do know which designers and celebs are paired up. So far: A-listers Vera Farmiga and Jessica Alba will wear Sophie Theallet for Gap, singer M.I.A and starlet Zoe Kravitz will wear Alexander Wang for Gap, Kerry Washington and Riley Keough will wear Thakoon for Gap, and Kirsten Dunst and Jamie Bochert will don Rodarte for Gap.
Although I don’t usually think of the Gap when I think of formal wear, I can’t wait to see the exquisite creations the collaborator’s come up with! If you’re dying to get your hands on the one-of-a-kind creations, all you have to do is bid on them. Gap is holding a silent auction the day after the gala, where proceeds will go towards the Metropolitan Museum’s Costume Institute. If you aren’t willing to splurge, you can still admire the frocks in NYC, where the creations will go on public display on May 5 at the Gap’s pop-up shop of Fifth Avenue.
