EXCLUSIVE! Casey James, Blake Lewis Thinks Your Shania Song Was So Great That You Should Record It!

Casey, your rendition of Shania Twain’s “Don’t” was so impressive that Blake says it sounded like it had been written specifically for you!

Hot damn! HollywoodLife.com’s very own American Idol judge, Blake Lewis, has some high praise for sexy rocker Casey James this week! “This song sounded like it was written just for him!” the 28-year-old season six runner-up says. “He should look into recording this for his album!”

We totally agree! Check out what else Blake had to say about the April 27 episode here!

Highlight #1: Shania Twain! This woman is beautiful, intelligent and a passionate performer/songwriter. I was really surprised at how many amazing songs she has written, and also that it would make such a great night for American Idol. Nice!

Highlight #2: Michael Lynche sang “It Only Hurts When I’m Breathing.” Though a little dramatic, he is really the pro on this show, and every week I look forward to what he is going to do. He has such a great range! He can pretty much do anything. I was in the audience this time, and I gave him a standing O. I think I was more excited to be there in person though.

Highlight #3: Crystal Bowersox did a nice bluegrass version of “No One Needs To Know.” She brought the band down to the stage, and the arrangement was sweet and simple. The dual harmonies were perfect, and I felt once again that this girl consistently knows what to do every week to stay true to herself.

Highlight 4: Casey James got my vote tonight for his version of “Don’t.” I was sitting right in front of him when he sang, and this song sounded like it was written just for him. He should look into recording it for his album.

Lowlight: I’m over the hype about Siobahn Magnus. In all her performances there is a highlight, but the performance as a whole is never outstanding. For example, the ending of “Any Man of Mine” tonight was amazing, but the start of the song wasn’t. Since she killed it in the end though, that’s what America will respond to.

I think this was one of the best shows this season. What do you guys think?

Finally someone gets it real! Love love so much Crystal’s performance last night & Mike really killed it, he almost made me cry (I’m an emotional girl, I know xD) but to be honest Casey finally had his time to shine, I feel like for the last couple of weeks I didn’t like his performances, finally something very fit to his voice and yes..! HE SHOULD RECORD IT.

As for Siobhan, kinda like she’s trying too hard to be like some dude who deserved to win last year (reference to Adam Lambert) and she started alright but the end was like wow, back to the wild on-fire Siobhan everyone knows but I don’t know, I’m afraid to see her go this week.. oh and that guy Aaron, I forgot about him, hello? he’s the most country contestant and he had his time to shine last night, sadly.. he didn’t shine enough.

Loving the blogs Blake <3 keep them coming!

for once, blake, i’ve found some common ground with you… i totally don’t get why you’re so into big mike- to me, what you call “professional” is lounge. he always appears to be acting. he did tone it down a bit though and seemed actually genuine to me this week, but i still was ambivalent about him compared to others. i used to love siobhan, and have decided i don’t love her voice anymore- so i’m 100% with you there. i like the emotion of her screams, but the rest falls flat for me even though i KNOW i would love her as a person. also, i love crystal and think she’s close to perfect, but thought her voice got lost behind her guitar this week. i literally just didn’t hear her very well through most of the song.
