The Biebster may be one of the hottest singers in the world right now, but before he was a mega star, he thought about trying out for American Idol!
Well, HollyWho-knew this? Before he made it big in the music biz, Justin Bieber considered auditioning for American Idol to get his big break!
“You know, [my mom and I] used to watch Idol. Me and my mom used to watch it when I was little and we were like ‘I could get on there, you know,’” the 16-year-old told MTV.com when asked if he would have competed on Idol.
He added, “When I turned 16, I might have went and tried out, but this [YouTube] was faster.”
We commend your impatience, JB, especially because your gamble paid off! Usher and Justin Timberlake both loved your Youtube videos so much that they actually fought over you — but Usher eventually won out. Needless to say, we think you’re doing *pretty well*. SO well, in fact, that we’re giving you our Newcomer of the Year award May 13. Idol who?

I think JB would have had to go on American Idol and taken his chances just like the other contestants. He definitely would have had to face some good competition. His winning the straw poll here is all subject to opinion as I am sure the people voting are all of his young fans.
